Hey team!
Callum here.
I’ve spoken to a lot of content creators, marketeers & entrepreneurs recently.
They’re all crushing it on social.
So I thought I’d narrow down the 6 tactics that make them winners.
Sound good?
Let’s dive in.
1/ Understand your why
It sounds simple. But lots of brands skip this.
Grace Andrews AKA the marketing genius behind Diary of a CEO, explained why this is important.
“People buy from connection and from feeling.”
Red Bull is a great example of a brand who have mastered their ‘why’.
Have a think:
What’s your why?
What feeling are you trying to create?
What unites your community?
How can you create content that serves this community?
2/ Be authentic
Authenticity = trust
That’s a key lesson Calfreezy taught me.
Why do we need trust?
It’s easier to part with your money if it’s going to somebody you trust.
People don’t want to buy from bullshitters.
They want somebody genuine.
Someone they trust.
Authentic content builds trust.
Fake content - clickbait etc kills trust.
Check out content creator and entrepreneur Grace Beverley.
She’s nailed authenticity:
3/ Re-use strategically
Michael Corcoran, AKA the brain behind Ryanair’s viral TikTok account, is a big believer in reusing content.
He calls it the ‘banger bank’.
Any content that goes over a certain threshold of views gets banked. Ready to be posted again.
I’ve tried it with some clients’ TikTok videos and Instagram reels.
My advice?
Don’t post the exact same thing repeatedly. Platforms are clocking on to this. But you can make subtle tweaks.
Want to make this really interesting?
Extrapolate one step further.
Look at what other creators are doing in your niche
Identify their most popular pieces of content
Decide if you could easily recreate this format
Take the same hook
Add your own opinion and unique angle
Here’s an example of a format I always see across YouTube.
How could you use this same format?
4/ Be reactive
Reactive content is a secret weapon for boosting brand awareness.
Finance content creator Damien Jordan talked about this.
He makes 6-8 YouTube videos a month.
2 of these slots are saved for reactive content.
But how do you find the content ideas?
Follow Michael Corcoran’s steps:
If Michael’s team can’t cook up a post in 5 minutes they move on.
Why?
Reacting fast is key.
Even if you don’t have the strongest post possible, getting out there first will give you the power to go viral.
5/ Answer those DMs
What are the FAQs your audience constantly throw at you?
Use them to your advantage.
This is something I’ve learnt from watching Grace Beverly.
Try this?
Find out what your audience’s top frustrations are
Can you make a product to help them?
Can you make content addressing this topic?
You’ll print money.
Ok, that’s a wrap!
